MHDT Woodberry Down Trustee Recruitment

Manor House Development Trust — the charity that runs the Redmond Community Centre and supports community life on Woodberry Down — is looking for residents to join its board of trustees.

You do not need any special qualifications or prior experience. MHDT is looking for people who live on the estate and care about the community. Everything else, they will teach you.

What does a trustee do?

Trustees are volunteers who help guide and oversee a charity. As a trustee of Manor House Development Trust, you would help make decisions about community projects, programmes and the running of the Redmond Community Centre — making sure that everything MHDT does genuinely serves the people who live here, and that it does so in accordance with charity law and Charity Commission requirements.

What is the commitment?

The board meets four times a year, and meetings are usually held online. You would typically need to set aside around two hours per meeting to read the board papers beforehand.

MHDT will support you every step of the way. If digital access is a barrier, they can help with IT and internet support. If childcare costs are a concern, get in touch — they may be able to help with that too.

Why does this matter?

The Redmond Community Centre is a vital resource for Woodberry Down — and the regeneration of the estate will only extend its importance. Having residents on the MHDT board means that the community’s voice is heard in the decisions that shape what happens there.

WDCO warmly encourages residents to consider this opportunity. The more residents who are involved in the organisations that serve this estate, the stronger the community becomes.
