# One Big Weekend: Summer Fun Day, Screenings, Sport, Food and Your Say on Phase 5

Summer Fun Day 2026
Summer Fun Day 2026

Spring Park and the astro turf are about to get busy. On Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 July, Manor House Development Trust, Berkeley Homes and Rendall & Rittner are combining forces to put on a weekend of free things to do for the whole community — and there’s a chance to have your say on the future of Woodberry Down too.

Here’s everything that’s happening.

## Saturday 11 July: Summer Fun Day

The centrepiece of the weekend. From **1pm to 5pm**, Spring Park and the Redmond Centre will be filled with free family activities — bouncy castle, kids’ entertainment and more. Brought to you by Manor House Development Trust, and entirely free to attend.

**Where:** Spring Park & Redmond Centre, N4 2HF

## Sport for Everyone, Courtesy of Rendall & Rittner

Alongside the Fun Day, Rendall & Rittner are bringing a programme of sports activities to Spring Park:

**Motive8 & Educated Body** will run team-based challenges right in the park.

**Level-Out** are offering free classes at their studios as part of the event — two free sessions with ten places each. Booking details are being confirmed, so keep an eye on our channels early next week.

**West Reservoir** activities are also in the works — more details to follow soon.

## Taste the Neighbourhood: Woodberry Down Street Food Pop-Up

Berkeley Homes are hosting a **Street Food Pop-Up** at their Sales & Marketing Suite on **Saturday 11 July, 10am–4pm**. Expect great local food and a chance to meet neighbours over something tasty — a nice way to break up the day between Fun Day activities.

**Where:** Woodberry Down Sales & Marketing Suite, Riverside Apartments, N4 2BA

## Summer Screenings: Saturday 11 & Sunday 12 July

Once the sun starts to dip, head to the astro turf for two evenings of big-screen entertainment. Bring a blanket, some drinks and snacks, and settle in.

**Saturday 11 July**

– 11am — The SpongeBob Movie (2025)

– 2pm — Wimbledon Doubles

– 4pm — Wimbledon Ladies’ Singles Final

– 7.30pm — Reload (a locally made short film)

– 7.50pm — Ghostbusters (1984)

**Sunday 12 July**

– 11am — Mufasa: The Lion King

– 2pm — Wimbledon Doubles

– 4pm — Wimbledon Gentlemen’s Singles Final

– 7.30pm — Back to the Future

**Where:** Astro Turf & Spring Park, N4 2HF — free entry

## Have Your Say: Woodberry Down Phase 5 Public Exhibition

While the fun is happening, there’s also a chance to shape what comes next. The final designs for **Phase 5 of Woodberry Down** are on show ahead of formal submission to Hackney Council, following two rounds of consultation in Winter 2025 and Spring 2026, in which 676 people gave their views and 184 pieces of written feedback were received.

Key features of the proposals include a reduced number of homes (from 799 down to 785), a range of larger homes across all tenures, 1.38 acres of new public space (equivalent to 21 tennis courts), 40% affordable housing, and new walking, cycling and river path connections.

As part of the weekend, there’s a dedicated exhibition event:

**Saturday 11 July, 12pm–3pm** — Summer Event at Spring Park

Two free guided walking tours are also running that day, starting and finishing at the astro turf next to Spring Park:

– 11am–12pm

– 12.30pm–1.30pm

Spaces are limited, so register in advance at [Woodberrydownconsultation.com](https://Woodberrydownconsultation.com).

There are further drop-in opportunities to view the designs and speak to the team: Wednesday 8 July, 4pm–7pm at Manor House Tube Station, and Thursday 16 July, 2.30pm–7pm outside the WDCO office, as well as visits to Rowley Gardens, Skinners Academy and Woodberry Down Primary School across the consultation period.

## Want to Help Make It Happen?

The Fun Day and Screenings only run smoothly with a few extra hands. Volunteers are needed to help monitor the bouncy castle and kids’ activities, keep an eye on vehicle movements, and assist with setting up and packing down — even an hour or two makes a real difference.

Support is welcome across the Fun Day (Saturday, 1pm–5pm, plus help in the morning and evening) and during the screenings on both days (approximately 11am–10pm).
